Friends of Oberwolfach
The "Verein zur Förderung des Mathematischen Forschungsinstituts Oberwolfach" (Förderverein, Friends of Oberwolfach) has been founded in February 1992 as a non-profit association. The founding chairman of the society was Reinhold Remmert who served it in this position for the next 15 years. The purpose of the association is the promotion of science and research in the field of mathematics through the acquisition and provision of funds for the Mathematisches Forschungsinstitut Oberwolfach (MFO).
Traditionally the Förderverein supports three main areas: support for the maintenance of the buildings, support for the library to keep it at its current level as one of the best mathematics libraries in the world, and travel support for participants of meetings in exceptional cases. This way mathematicians will directly profit from the money collected by the society.
We should cordially like to invite you to either make a one-time donation or to join the Förderverein as a member and in this way to express your attachment to the Institute. Your contribution is tax deductible. As a member of the Förderverein, you will receive also the annual report of the MFO and additional information, and you can subscribe to the Oberwolfach Reports at a reduced prize.
Please use the membership form form of the Förderverein. In case you wish to make a donation, please use one of the accounts mentioned in the membership form or give a cheque or cash to the secretary at the guest office of the MFO.
